Erinnerungen und Meilensteine: Veranstaltungen im Rückblick

Fairkochen- Köstliches aus dem Kochtopf 2024

Fairkochen- Köstliches aus dem Kochtopf. Das war das Motto am vergangenen Freitagabend in der Küche der Volkshochschule am Münsterkirchplatz. Im Mittelpunkt dieses Kochkurses standen Produkte aus dem fairen Handel sowie Lebensmittel aus regionalem Anbau. Doch bevor gemeinsam der Kochlöffel geschwungen wurde, gab es einen Impuls-Vortrag rund um den fairen Handel vom Fairtrade-Referenten Ulrich Pietsch. Nach diesen wertvollen Informationen machten sich die 9 Teilnehmer:innen unter der Leitung von vhs-Kochkursdozentin Nicola Läube-Dammermann an die Zubereitung. Blumenkohlcurry mit bunter Quinoa, fruchtiger Reissalat, die beliebten Erdnussbutter-Datteln im Schokomantel… es hieß fair kochen und vor allem auch genießen. Dabei bot sich so manche Gelegenheit zu erfahren, wo welche faire gehandelten Produkte am besten im Kreis Herford erworben werden können. Fashion Revolution Week 2023

Als Andenken an das Rana Plaza Unglück im Jahr 2013. Im Rahmen der Fashion Revolution Week 2023 und in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Bildungsbereich der Bekleidungstechnischen Assistenten hat die Fairtrade-Towns Kampagne des Kreises Herford in der Herforder Innenstadt auf die Missstände der Modeindustrie aufmerksam gemacht. Die Schülerinnen und Schüler des Anna-Siemsen-Berufskollegs haben aus fehlerhaften Sportbekleidungen neue, kreative Kleidungsstücke gefertigt und so ein starkes Zeichen gegen den Überkonsum in der Textilbranche gesetzt. Mit dieser Aktion trugen sie dazu bei, wertvolle Ressourcen wie Wasser und Erdöl zu sparen und setzten sich für eine Verbesserung der Arbeitsbedingungen im globalen Süden ein.
